American Woodmark Corp. has announced it will cut staff and raise prices on some products to combat continued weak financial performance. Shares of the Winchester, Va.–based company, which makes the Timberlake line of cabinets, fell 15.5 percent after it announced that second-quarter profit fell 46 percent from the comparable 2004 period. The company attributes some of this to labor, transportation, and manufacturing cost increases.
