Green jobs in all industries may be scarce now, but a “green economy” is slowly emerging and gaining a foothold, particularly within the building industry. A report recently released by the United Nations Environment Programme predicts that by the year 2020, the global market for sustainable products and services will double from $1.37 trillion to $2.74 trillion—and building and construction will be among several sectors that will have a significant impact on employment and the environment.
