Austin Energy Green Building, the utility-sponsored sustainable building program of Austin, Texas, and the Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES) are accepting nominations of green-built homes and residential solar installations through March 7, 2008, for the 2008 Cool House Tour.
The annual tour, now in its 12th year and slated for June 22, will showcase 10 outstanding residential projects ranging from affordable to high-end luxury, each utilizing a range of energy-efficient, water-saving, and sustainable systems and features. Ideally, visitors to the houses will learn that resource conservation does not necessarily require sacrifices in style or comfort.
