NAHB’s 2009 Construction Forecast

The NAHB released its 2009 forecast for the construction industry at its semi-annual construction forecast meeting Oct. 22. Overall, the forecast is dim, according to BUILDER magazine, CUSTOM HOME’s sister magazine. Economists and housing industry experts presented readings on the deteriorating economy, warning that conditions are unlikely to change anytime soon. While NAHB’s chief economist acknowledged the problematic tightening of credit for construction loans, he also offered an upbeat prediction of when to expect new single-family home sales to pick up.
