As if there were any doubt that land is a hot commodity, the latest research from the National Auctioneers Association confirms it. Sales of residential real estate through live auctions amounted to $14.2 billion in 2005—an 8.4 percent increase over the previous year. Commercial and industrial land purchases through live auctions totaled $13.7 billion in 2005.
