Letter to the Editor: Clean Jobsites

1 MIN READ

In response to “Clean Up,” in the May/June 2007 issue (page 13), a reader gives his tips for keeping jobsites clean:

The following signs are posted on this reader’s jobsites.

Attention Chewers & Smokers

SMOKERS

  • ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING INSIDE THE BUILDING.

  • KEEP YOUR BUTTS PICKED UP.

  • IF I FIND JUST ONE BUTT THIS WILL IMMEDIATELY BECOME A NO-SMOKING-ALLOWED JOBSITE. CHEWERS

  • DO NOT SPIT ON THE GROUND OR FLOOR.

  • USE A SPIT CUP IF YOU’RE NOT MAN ENOUGH TO SWALLOW IT.

  • CLEAN THE CUP AND/OR TAKE IT WITH YOU DAILY. THESE RULES ARE IN PLACE BECAUSE TOO MANY PEOPLE FORGOT THIS JOBSITE BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE AND WILL ULTIMATELY BE THEIR NEW HOME. PLEASE SHOW THEM THE CONSIDERATION THEY DESERVE. THEY ARE PAYING US FOR IT!

    SUBS

Please help keep a clean jobsite.

  • Take your pop cans, coffee cups, lunch bags, etc. with you. I am not your maid.

  • If you make a mess—you clean it up.

  • Smokers, please keep your butts picked up.

  • A little sprucing up every day makes me happy … others too. No one likes to work in a dump. Your cooperation is immensely appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Tim
