Workforce Training

The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded a three-year, $235,000 grant to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) to establish seven construction career academies. Funded under the High-Growth Job Training Initiative, the academies will provide both academic and technical skills training for construction-related careers. They will be based in school districts in Anchorage, Alaska; Houston; Louisville, Ky.; Jackson, Miss.; Omaha, Neb.; Portland, Ore.; and Burlington, Wis. Local AGC chapters will support the initiatives with matching funds and in-kind contributions.
