Discarded windshields get a second life.

1 MIN READ

Usually, a smashed windshield causes stress and anxiety. But Second Glass hopes to change that by turning discarded windshields into custom glass products.

Second Glass obtains its glass primarily from windshield repair shops, says founder and CEO Ron Sundholm. The company recycles that glass into an array of building products, such as shower doors, lighting, pocket doors, partitions, fireplace fronts, and cabinet door inserts. It can also add color to the glass.

Aside from keeping discarded windshields out of landfills and saving the energy required to create new glass products, Second Glass products can earn a house points toward LEED certification.
