Which design trends will define 2026?

If this brand-new farmhouse plan is any indication, it’ll be a lot like 2025. After all, farmhouse is still the most popular style for Houseplans.com. But perhaps we’ll continue to see things trend a bit simpler, even more open than before (if that’s possible), with a dash of cottage style.

Let’s start with the exterior of this one. The wide porch creates an inviting beginning for guests. The garage sits tucked around the side, contributing plenty of parking without adding too much to the width of the house.

Now to the layout. The front door opens directly to the great room. To the left, the luxurious main suite. To the right, two secondary bedrooms. And ahead, the spacious kitchen/dining zone.

Other highlights include a large back porch and extra storage in the garage.
