Here’s a new farmhouse plan under 1,500 square feet that gives homeowners a straightforward open layout.

Does it fit a narrow lot? Absolutely, with a couldn’t-get-simpler rectangular footprint that only measures 19 feet wide. The front porch takes every bit of that width to present a relaxing, neighborhood-friendly retreat.

Here’s the main-floor layout. Other highlights besides those already discussed include the laundry room, which is more than the cramped laundry closet that you’ll often find in a home of this size. The same can be said of the walk-in pantry in the kitchen.

Upstairs, families with young children will appreciate having all three bedrooms on one level. Those who simply want to use the secondary bedrooms for office or hobby space can enjoy the views from those spaces.
