Concrete is a durable, relatively affordable, and low-maintenance material, says ARCHITECT‘s Ayda Ayoubi.

Although concrete is perhaps most commonly associated with forming the basis of large-scale infrastructure projects and structures, it’s also widely used in industrial design and furniture manufacturing, thanks to its versatility and ability to assume an array of geometries. The six products below demonstrate how designers have creatively leveraged these characteristics to mold concrete into unexpected functional or decorative objects.
