Kindred Homes is a partnership of Terry Horton, Trent Horton, Todd Miller, and Glen Bellinger. All of the partners have a deep history and passion for the home building industry.
Kindred Homes is founded on a legacy of homebuilding, the passion for housing courses through the partners that run it. As a young boy growing up in Arkansas, Terry Horton learned firsthand the value of a decent home. Raised initially in the tiny map dot of Zack, AR, he didn’t even have indoor plumbing or a refrigerator. Even though Terry previously was a pharmacist in Marshall, he soon left for the great state of Texas to work with his brother who started a home building company.
Terry brought up his son, Trent Horton, in the home building industry and passed on his passion and wealth of knowledge at an early age. Trent wasn’t even out of college when he received the Million Dollar Producer award in 1995. To say they are passionate about this industry is an understatement. Both strive to find ways to bring affordable housing to the buyers who need it yet provide a luxury product for the buyers who demand it.
After acquiring Wall Homes in 2009, Terry and Trent partnered with Glen Bellinger, a well-respected real estate attorney in the Dallas, TX area.
Glen has been integral in ensuring the integrity and standards of their partnership. In 2018, the partners restructured and renamed Wall Homes to form Horton Capital Properties, LLC, encompassing several real estate-centric holdings, including Kindred Homes.
Looking to grow, Trent knew he would need the expertise of another partner. After his initial conversation, Trent quickly gathered Todd Miller would be the person to lead the company in the right direction. Todd, at the time, was running his own homebuilding company, Glacier Custom Homes. Todd started his career in the home building sector over 20 years ago with Pulte Homes and then on to Beazer Homes as their DFW President.
After the 2008 housing downfall, Todd wasn’t scared; he saw it as an opportunity for growth. That unprecedented vision for opportunity spurred Todd to go on his own. He said to himself, “if not now, when?” In 2010, Todd began the epic journey of entrepreneurship. Though Todd enjoyed running his business on his own, he saw another growth opportunity with Kindred Homes.
Glacier Custom Homes officially became a part of the HCP family of brands in the fall of 2019 and has brought a new and exciting product line to Kindred Homes. The Glacier brand and product has since transitioned to Kindred Home Legacy Series
