Waterfront Development announced today final approval of its latest project on Lake Livingston just an hour north of Houston in Livingston, Texas.

The Channel at Cedar Point will join the rest of this Master Planned community with ground breaking scheduled for October, and Grand Opening anticipated in April 2019.

“This 25 Lot Subdivision along the preferred eastern shore of Lake Livingston is the cumulation of several years of planning,” said Charles Von Schmidt, Waterfront principal. “We designed this project to fill the need for waterfront homes in the 500-600krange offering folks their own boathouses. We see families looking for a fun outdoor retreat, serious fishermen, and retirees, looking for some relaxation.” Lake Livingston has some of the best fishing, birding, and wildlife viewing the state of Texas has to offer.

“We are excited to bring this new village to Lake Livingston featuring coastal lakefront homes filled with the cool features that distinguish our larger luxury home series,” said Lead Designer Amy Von Schmidt. “We were inspired by the coastal villages and exclusive canal communities we saw in Florida and wanted to bring this home to Texas. We also insured that architectural controls were implemented to preserve the community’s casual, but upscale lifestyle.”

The Lake Livingston area has become a favorite for families due to its convenient access to the major cities in Texas and its stable water levels. Lake Livingston, the largest lake entirely in Texas, is over 93,000 acres and was designed to gather water from a vast area of Texas making it more drought tolerant than other Lakes including Travis, Conroe and Houston.

“I think most people want a place that is not too far from their home but worlds away in terms of atmosphere. People want a place to relax and let their kids enjoy the outdoors getting them off the video games and into the real world,” said Von Schmidt. At the same time families want a place that’s easy to maintain close by.

“With the addition of The Channel and its 500k price point, Cedar Point now offers homes for everyone,” said Von Schmidt. “We have luxury homes on the Peninsula ranging $1-2.5 million, the Cottage series priced $150-200K, and homes from Wade Jurney Homes starting at $100,000.”
