At a recent event marking the completion of the 2,000th manufactured home produced by Karsten Homes’ Albuquerque plant, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson announced goals for affordable housing in the state. He plans to introduce legislation this year to build 15,000 affordable homes statewide before the end of his term in 2007. His goals also include raising $20 million to start an affordable housing trust fund.
