For years, Brian Bailey has been wiring the homes he builds with lighting and system controls, but the scale of his projects made connecting all the systems increasingly difficult. Using Lutron’s new Radio Frequency (RF) components with the manufacturer’s HomeWorks whole-home lighting control system, Bailey can offer his clients control over lighting, audiovisual equipment, HVAC systems, sprinklers, and security systems from any room in the house. Keypads, dimmers, a car visor transmitter, RF receivers, and an RF processor combine with the hard-wired components of the HomeWorks system seamlessly without additional wiring. The system’s key feature is its flexibility. “It can be configured after the homeowner moves in,” says Bailey. “It lets us do a lot of post-occupancy modifications.” The new RF components also interface with several of Lutron’s other home-control systems.
