, Yarmouth, Maine Joshua Fedorka, owner of green home building company Symphony Construction, stresses the importance of selecting stellar insulation. His pick, Nu-Wool cellulose insulation, performs better than fiberglass and is made from recycled newspapers, the company states.

Since more insulation makes for a tighter home, Fedorka also recommends using Venmar’s energy recovery ventilators to bring fresh air into homes. The products keep a stable humidity level, according to the manufacturer. “Even if guys are not building green, they are still installing products that are making the home too tight,” Fedorka says. “These are a must.”
