Project Description
The project involved the total renovation with additions of an existing 1950’s home in a suburban location. The design was a collaboration between a builder and an architect. Modern open, airy floor plans were created to meet the demand for “new” homes. The builder requested a design that allowed him to display his craftsmanship and style. Originally a single-story mid-century home, the renovation took it to a two-story modern bungalow with an open floor plan and high ceilings. The home included multiple bedroom suites, family rooms, bathrooms, terraces, a renovated two-car garage, and a designer kitchen. Design challenges included the triangular lot with two street frontages, severe zoning setback restrictions, and height limitations.
